While most of us would agree that the U.S. health care system isn’t efficient, the path forward to decreasing costs while maintaining quality often seems overwhelming. So where do we begin? And how can we create a “constituency for efficiency” to drive meaningful improvement ? On this episode of the Business Group on Health Podcast, we speak with Dr. Zack Cooper about the 1% Steps for Health Care Reform Project, an initiative that brings together researchers to lower health care costs in the U.S. through incremental change, and discuss the discrete problems his team has identified and the evidence-based ways we can solve them.
